The Wiz Athens Theatre reviews
Great show...while it lasted
After seeing The Wiz before, I had high expectations for a great show, and indeed, he delivered while on stage. The venue was very nice, and The Wiz put on a phenomenal performance. However, the major complaint I have is the duration of his set. Despite being a huge fan, it was disappointing to only have a 65-minute show with no encore or opening act. I paid $130 for a ticket, drove three hours, and took the day off work, expecting a 90-120 minute show and at least an encore. I felt truly let down by the short performance. Watching today's top artists play for two hours or more at a local fair for $40 seemed like a better value proposition.
